Installed TrueFoot and it does not seem to work, feels the same, or the game will not start? Almost every case comes down to the same few things: an old FIFA Mod Manager, a stale cache, the load order, or the in-game settings. Pick what you see below. Each one starts with a quick check, then the fix in short steps. The full setup lives in the install guide.

Nothing changed in the game
Why does FC 26 feel the same after installing the mod?
Quick check
Open FIFA Mod Manager and look at the version. FC 26 needs 2.1.1 or newer, FC 27 needs 2.2.0 or newer. An older version is the first thing to rule out.
Why it happens
The mod only reaches the game when Mod Manager applies it to the profile you actually launch. An old Mod Manager, a stale cache, a mod that is not ticked, or a different profile can all leave you playing the unmodded game without any error.

The fix
Update FIFA Mod Manager to the version above.
On FC 26, close the game and delete %localappdata%\Temp\EA SPORTS FC26 (press Win + R, paste the path, delete the folder).
In Mod Manager, make sure TrueFoot is in the profile you play and ticked. If you have more than one profile, check which one is selected.
Apply the mods, then start the game with the EA app in Offline mode (in the EA app menu, choose Go Offline).
Set the in-game settings from the install guide. On FC 26: Gameplay Type Custom, Authenticity Off, sliders 50 / 50. On FC 27: Custom, Authenticity Features On, sliders 50.
Play an Exhibition (Kick Off) match first. Movement, first touch and passing weight are where the change should be easiest to feel.
Works in Kick Off, not in Career
Why do my gameplay settings keep resetting in Career Mode?
Quick check
Open the settings inside your career, not only in the main menu. Career Mode keeps its own copy of the gameplay settings.
Why it happens
The main menu and Career Mode each have their own gameplay settings. Setting Custom in the main menu does not carry into a career, so a career can quietly run on different sliders and feel faster or play differently.

The fix
In the main menu, set the required settings from the install guide.
Load your career, open its settings and set the same things there: Gameplay Type Custom, the Authenticity setting for your game, sliders 50.
Set the CPU sliders to Custom as well. In FC 27 Career the Tactical preset pushes some CPU sliders to the top, which overrides the mod's balance.
After a game update or loading a different save, take a quick look again. You do not need a new save for the mod to work.
Add-ons do nothing
Why do TrueFoot add-ons not change anything?
Quick check
Look at the order in Mod Manager. The base mod goes above, the add-ons go below it. The bottom mod wins.
Why it happens
Add-ons change some of the same files as the base mod. In FIFA Mod Manager the mod lower in the list overrides the ones above it. If an add-on sits above the base, the base overwrites it and nothing changes.

The fix
Put TrueFoot Gameplay Mod above its add-ons in the list.
Move each add-on (Fouls, Motion, Tuning Pack options) below the base mod.
Run only one Fouls add-on and one Motion add-on at a time. Two of the same kind fight each other.
Apply again, restart the game, and test in an Exhibition match. The install guide shows the exact order.
“The file is corrupt” in Mod Manager
Why does FIFA Mod Manager say the TrueFoot mod file is corrupt?
Quick check
Check your FIFA Mod Manager version. Builds made for a newer Mod Manager do not import into an older one.
Why it happens
New TrueFoot builds are made with a recent Mod Manager. An older Mod Manager (for example 2.0.x) cannot read them and calls the file corrupt or not a valid mod file. A file for the other game, or a download that stopped early, can show the same message.

The fix
Update FIFA Mod Manager: 2.1.1 or newer for FC 26, 2.2.0 or newer for FC 27.
Make sure the file is for the game you play. FC 27 and FC 26 builds are separate files.
Download the file again and import the .fifamod itself, not the zip.
If your antivirus moved the file, restore it and download it again from our Mods page or Nexus Mods.
The game crashes or won't start
What do I do if FC 26 crashes or won't start with mods?
Quick check
Did the game get an update today? A mod built for the previous title update often stops the game from starting.
Why it happens
Most launch problems come from a mismatch: a mod built for another game version, two mods changing the same gameplay files, an old Mod Manager, or a stale cache. Going back to a clean start usually shows which one it is.

The fix
Check your game version against the build you installed. If they differ, see After a game update below.
Update FIFA Mod Manager and, on FC 26, delete %localappdata%\Temp\EA SPORTS FC26.
Make sure the EA app is in Offline mode before you start the game. Many players start the game from Live Editor, which handles offline mode for them.
Untick everything except TrueFoot Gameplay Mod, apply and start. If that works, add your other mods back one at a time.
Keep one gameplay mod in your profile. Two gameplay mods change the same files and can clash.
Antivirus software can block the game or Mod Manager. Check its quarantine before anything else.
After a game update
Does the TrueFoot mod work after an FC 26 title update?
Quick check
Look at the title update in the mod's file name (for example TU 1.6.6) and compare it with your game version.
Why it happens
Gameplay mods are built for one title update of the game. When EA ships a new one, the mod usually needs a new build for it, and the old one may not apply or may stop the game from starting until then.

The fix
Until the new build is out, take the mod out of your profile so you can still play.
Watch Nexus Mods, Discord or TrueFoot Hub. The Hub checks for a new build every time it starts.
When the new build lands, replace the old file in Mod Manager instead of adding a second copy.
Update FIFA Mod Manager too, and on FC 26 delete the temp cache folder again.
Apply, start offline, and check the settings in the main menu and in your career.
Updating to a new TrueFoot version
How do I update TrueFoot to a new version without problems?
Quick check
Look for two copies of TrueFoot in your Mod Manager profile, an old one and a new one.
Why it happens
When an old and a new build sit in the same profile, the lower one wins file by file and you end up with a mix of both. Old add-ons under a new base can do the same.

The fix
Remove the old TrueFoot files from your profile before you apply the new version.
Replace the add-ons with the ones from the same release as the base mod.
Keep the order: base above, add-ons below.
Apply, clear the cache on FC 26, and start offline. TrueFoot Hub can swap old copies for new ones in place for you.
It works, but it doesn't feel right
The mod is working but the CPU is too passive or the game is too slow. What can I change?
Quick check
Is the mod clearly changing the game, just not to your taste? Then nothing is wrong with the install. These are settings and options.
Why it happens
TrueFoot ships one opinionated default: slower and heavier, and on FC 26 with a stricter referee. Everyone's ideal is a bit different, so the pace, the CPU's attitude and the fouls all have their own knobs.

The fix
CPU too passive? Under CPU Sliders, set AI Behaviour to Custom and raise Buildup Speed and Shot Frequency into the 80 to 99 range.
Too slow? Put the Motion (Light) or Motion+ add-on below the base mod for more pace.
Too many cards? Use Fouls (Looser) below the base mod, or play the base mod alone.

Kit Physics shows no movement
Why does the Kit Physics mod not change anything?
Quick check
Open the game's graphics settings and check Cloth Quality. Kit Physics needs it on High or Ultra.
Why it happens
Kit Physics works through the game's own cloth simulation, which runs fully only at the higher quality settings. Performance or graphics optimisation mods that lower cloth detail can switch the effect off too.

The fix
Set Cloth Quality to High or Ultra.
Take out performance or graphics optimisation mods that lower cloth detail, then try again.
Apply again and look at a replay close up, where shirt movement is easiest to see.
Playing online
Can I play online with TrueFoot installed?
Quick check
TrueFoot is for offline modes: Kick Off, Career and the like. Keep online play vanilla.
Why it happens
Mods run with the game offline. Online modes are EA's servers and its rules, and modded files have no place there.

The fix
Close the game.
Start it normally from the EA app, not from Mod Manager or Live Editor, with the EA app back online.
When you want TrueFoot again, go offline and start through Mod Manager as before.
Download page or Patreon sign-in
Why can't I download the supporter mods after signing in with Patreon?
Quick check
Just joined or upgraded on Patreon? Press Refresh membership on the download page. It can take a moment for Patreon to report the new tier.
Why it happens
The page asks Patreon which tier you are on each time you sign in. Supporter builds open for a paid tier on Patreon. The base mods stay free and are not on this page: they are on the Mods page and Nexus Mods.

The fix
Signed in but everything is locked: refresh your membership, or sign out and in again.
Sign-in failed or expired: start the sign-in again from the download page, in the same browser.
“Too many downloads”: wait a few minutes, then try again.
The download stopped part way: press Download again. Each build is prepared for your account, so the first one can take a moment.
Need a build for an older game version? Look under Older builds on the mod's card.
TrueFoot Hub problems
What do I do if TrueFoot Hub can't find FIFA Mod Manager or won't open?
Quick check
Is the Hub signed in with a paid tier on Patreon? On a free membership it signs you in and stops there.
Why it happens
The Hub is free to download, but it carries the supporter builds, so a paid tier is what opens it. Other first-run snags are Windows itself or Mod Manager sitting in a folder the Hub does not look in.

The fix
Windows warns about a new publisher the first time: that is expected for a new app. Choose to run it anyway.
“FIFA Mod Manager was not found”: common when Mod Manager is in a custom or portable folder. Choose FIFA Mod Manager.exe once and the Hub remembers it. Run Mod Manager once first, so it creates its folders.
Choose the Mod Manager profile you actually play before you apply.
Something looks wrong after Apply? Use Undo last change, right next to the button.
On FC 27, keep the Hub up to date. The Hub page always has the latest version.
Career Engine won't open with F10
Why does Career Engine not open when I press F10?
Quick check
Is the game in Borderless display mode, with Live Editor running and your Manager Career loaded?
Why it happens
Career Engine opens over the game and reads your career through Live Editor. Windows lets nothing draw over exclusive fullscreen, and without Live Editor or a loaded career there is nothing to read yet.

The fix
Set the game's display mode to Borderless.
Start the game with FC 26 Live Editor or FC 27 Live Editor, then load your Manager Career.
Hub says the game runs as administrator: Live Editor usually starts it that way. Restart TrueFoot Hub as administrator, then press F10 again.
Hub says your game version is not the one Career Engine reads: update the game in the EA app. On the day of a new title update, Career Engine may still be catching up.
Check that the Hub is signed in with a paid tier on Patreon. Career Engine opens for paid tiers.
